Hold onto your wigs and feather boas friends, because BeDecked! II is set to be even bigger and better than last year! With a more streamlined vision and renewed mission to share empowerment through the fashion experience, this year’s show will have lots of opportunities to shop and to get hands on with sparkly things created by local artists and craftspeople.  BeDecked! II is currently being planned for July 2013, be watching for the official announcement of the date and this year’s spectacular theme soon!

BeDecked went off, not without a hitch, but went off nonetheless on June 28th, 2012 at BMW Seattle. We celebrated local designers’ creations and reveled in the merging of the worlds of burlesque, drag, pageantry, music and fashion for a night. We made a splash and put on a great show. I couldn’t be prouder of the accomplishment, and I do believe BeDecked! will have to happen again.

I want to thank everyone who helped make the show all that it was, I had a fantastic crew of backstage personnel, talented hair and make up professionals, beautiful models, friends who volunteered their time and lots of wonderful sponsors who provided all the pieces of the final puzzle.

As a fundraiser, BeDecked didn’t exactly raise the funds to springboard Lime Light Fashion to that store grand opening, but some great connections were made, and the journey continues.  Keep watching the Lime Light facebook page and limelightfashion.com for updates on our progress toward the goal, and announcements of the winners of the designer, model, hair and make up, and photographer contests from BeDecked!, to be featured in an upcoming fashion spread in NW Beauty Magazine.

This pairing represents exactly what Lime Light Fashion hopes to bring to the Seattle community with the launch of our store next year, the blending of worlds and support of artists from different backgrounds to encourage and uplift eachother. We are thrilled to have both of these talented individuals supporting Lime Light, and keeping the action moving for you at BeDecked!

Along with Jessica, several of the city and county title holders competing for the Mrs. Washington 2013 title will be in the house too, bringing the galmour!

Yes, this is a fundraiser for Lime Light Fashion House but we can’t forget about the community. We are asking our attendees to bring clothing for Ruby Room Seattle and Queen, It’s a New Day. Both are amazing causes that we are thrilled to be able to raise awareness and support for. Ruby Room Seattle takes prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, etc. to give to girls who would otherwise be unable to attend their high school right of passage formal dances, and Queen It’s a New Day is always looking for business clothing and everyday clothes for women trying to get back on their feet. This show is so off the hook that we don’t just have music for our models to walk the runway, we have a DJ spinning her hits. Join us in welcoming DJ Gold E Lox for a great mix of passion, sparkle and fun.

The one and only Sailor St. Claire, the Showgirl Scholar is performing at  BeDecked! Sailor draws her inspiration from Katharine Hepburn’s quick wit and Ann-Margret’s sexy charm, as well as from Golden Age burlesque artists like Tempest Storm. Known far and wide for her ability to handle rope, this redheaded siren’s tassel-twirling bravura makes seamen and landlubbers alike shout, “Hello, Sailor!”
